Kitchen Manager
May - August
At Coldwater, we value living a healthy lifestyle and are intentional about serving our staff, volunteers and participants with high quality and nutritious meals. We enjoy getting creative with homemade specialties such as breads, granola, wood-fired pizza and soups and truly believe food can help bring people together. We are looking for someone who shares our intentional approach to healthy eating and who is interested in providing leadership in our camp kitchen and dining area. Our ideal candidate is passionate about creating an atmosphere of encouragement, fun and positivity; someone who is willing to problem solve, seeks to improve our systems and enjoys taking initiative. We are in need of an individual who can work well under pressure, communicate clearly, and who is willing to exceed the Ministry of Health standards in the kitchen. We want to invest in our Kitchen Manager and will provide the opportunity to participate in our Wilderness Leadership Expedition free of charge for the accepted applicant.
Facility & Property Team
July & August
Coldwater Canada is blessed with the use of Camp Norland in Verner, ON, as our summer home and basecamp. We strive to create an atmosphere that is inviting, clean, safe, organized and well cared for, and we are looking for people who can share in this goal. One of our Summer Team Core behaviors is to “make it better, leave it better.” We are looking for individuals who are willing to constantly seek ways to make our basecamp better and are excited to take initiative in this role. Accepted applicants will work on a team that is responsible for the upkeep of the buildings and property, and each team member will participate in team tasks while also being assigned personal responsibilities. We are seeking individuals who are willing to work hard, learn, be attentive to detail and who love to serve. Facility & Property staff will be viewed as members of our Special Ops Team and will have the opportunity to venture out on a wilderness trip during their summer experience with Coldwater.
Program Assistant(s)
July & August
Nascar has pit crews, and Coldwater has Program Assistants. Our Program Assistants provide critical leadership, both behind the scenes and up front, that make our programs possible! Prior to every wilderness program, the Program Assistant will help with purchasing and packing trip food. Program Assistants will also have responsibilities with managing our gear system, including pulling tripping equipment before programs, dispersing equipment to students, collecting and washing gear after trips, and making any necessary repairs as directed. Program Assistants will also have the opportunity to participate in celebration services and program wrap-up and will provide leadership during BEDROCK. Our ideal Program Assistants are self-starters, are willing to learn and take direction, have a high attention to detail, and are interested in learning and enabling the critical behind the scenes work that make our programs happen. Program Assistants will be viewed as members of our Special Ops Team and will have the opportunity to venture out on a wilderness trip during their summer experience with Coldwater.
