Wilderness First Responder (WFR)
The Wilderness First Responder (WFR) course is the recognized industry standard for those who work as backcountry trip leaders, camp counsellors, or people serving in remote missions work. The WFR course is the course for anyone working in a position of leadership in an outdoor setting or for individuals who want a high level of wilderness medical training for extended personal backcountry trips or expeditions.
The Wilderness First Responder (WFR) course is 72-80 hours long (7 to 10 days), and is a comprehensive and in-depth look at the standards and skills of dealing with: Response and Assessment, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Environmental Emergencies and Survival Skills, Soft Tissue Injuries, and Medical Emergencies. The course is highly experiential with a blend of class instruction and many scenarios allowing extensive hands on practice. The course will be taught by SOLO Canada, a division of Wendigo Lake (solocanada.ca)

NEED A RIDE?
We are happy to offer participants a ride in the Coldwater vans. Our vans will have pick-up and drop off locations in Cambridge, Vaughan, Barrie and North Bay. Seating is available on a first come basis for a small fee. Let us know if you need a ride when you register!
